The model works perfectly when called directly, but the agent integration doesn't actually execute the tools. It generates things like: <tools> {"name": "read_files", ...} </tools> as plain text and then just sits there until I tell it to "do it" again. It repeats the exact same fake tool call. So instead of: Qwen → tool call → grep/find/read → result → Qwen I get: Qwen → pretend tool call → nothing happens → repeat.view source ↗

I personally never got into the habit of using it very heavily. By the time I started having access to decent AI autocomplete tools, things like Cline and Augment were already around, so I ended up relying more on assistants instead. That made me curious about how other people use it today. Do you still use Cursor Tab, Copilot, or something similar? If you also use coding assistants, do you find yourself using AI autocomplete less, or do the two complement each other?view source ↗

I can't say how well this performs; Cline works well early on in a session but I find I regularly need to start new tasks, past a certain point the context window gets cluttered and it starts trying to redo tasks it has already completed. Now, I'm sure that is partly my fault and not digging into Cline's more advanced configuration options or whatever, but it's not too obvious what to adjust. It sounds like DSH is promising better task management and easier configuration; I guess I'll find out when I try it with an existing project later today.view source ↗

I opened a developer API account, loaded 5 dollars and got the free $100s of credits for the month. Like two weeks later, xAI announced they were shutting down the subsidized credits entirely lol. Didn’t even get a full month out of it, and closed my account entirely since I sure wasn’t ever going to put another penny of my own money in. So my personal lesson was to ignore any hype about the latest “crazy value / unbeatable / free / subsidized X, Y or Z” from anything xAI/Elon adjacent in the future. These days I get more than enough personal usage from Codex + OpenCode Go to put up with yet another xAI/Cursor offer treadmill, especially if it involves installing new tooling to get it.view source ↗

It's even worse than that. We've got a CEO who has suddenly learned how to vibe code and the stuff he's coming up with is... kind of horrendous. He's coming up with new "products" and proclaiming them the next big thing for us to work on and we're kind of over here scratching our heads asking who would want this? Who would pay for it? I mean, he was able to put together a kind of a cool web app (with 0 web app knowledge) that's supposedly going to let users design thingys with AI, but it just seems like he re-invented a harness/IDE. I suggested that maybe what he wants is a VS Code plugin like Cline or KiloCode... but he hadn't used VS Code.view source ↗

Ideally, these would be closely aligned, but given that the former is a set of mutually exclusive category definitions bounded by precise quantitative variables, and the latter are overlapping clines that people make varied subjective judgments about, it's impossible to have perfect alignment, and edge cases like the ones you're discussing here will naturally proliferate.view source ↗

There is all swift command line too It’s taking me a long, long time, a few months to build this, and it’s fully open source Apache 2 licensed. Hoping people fork this and make many branches I’m looking for people who want to work on something that has much lower memory usage and much more potential to be just more efficient. Every other single harness has is written in using electron, so this harness is really unique in this way. It’s connected to trusted router so that it has end-to-end encryption confidential mode as well as access to hundreds of models, any model in the world. It works great with Deepseek. it’s great for swift development ios development. and for people who love Linux, I also made a compatibility layer that lets you compile SwiftUI into native Linux so that you either can new or QT actually so that you can just compile all the code directly and make it run on Linuxview source ↗

THE PROBLEM Every coding agent tool I've used (Claude Code, Cursor, Aider, Cline) assumes the person running the agent is the only human in the loop. For real teams, that is never true. Agent work disappears into terminal tabs. Risky mutations happen without review. There's no shared visibility, no team-owned control point. WHAT AFK DOES A persistent daemon runs on your machine or your company server. Engineers connect via browser. - Sessions survive reconnect, terminal closure, machine sleep — intact history, worktree state, and model context - Three permission modes (auto, ask before writes, ask before every tool call) plus plan mode - Teams: orgs with roles, shared dashboards, session handoff with inbox notifications, shared-session participants - BYOK model routing: Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, Mistral, Groq, xAI, DeepSeek, local, Azure, OpenRouter, subscriptions — your keys, their rates, no markup - Docker execution, sub-agents, MCP, skills, plugins, hooks, webhook and scheduled automations - Agent mesh: agents spawn children, message each other directly, coordinate across sessions — daemon-local for same-machine, hub-relayed cross-daemon with same-account enforcement - Enterprise: shared daemon on company infrastructure, dedicated control plane for stricter residency requirements ARCHITECTURE The daemon dials out to the hub. No inbound firewall rules needed. A shared daemon on a company server keeps repository checkouts and command execution inside the corporate network. Agents run as native OS processes via the daemon's WebSocket mesh — not through the cloud hub. Java 25, GraalVM native binary — virtual threads without the JVM startup cost. Agents are lightweight OS processes orchestrated by the daemon. PRICING Free (1 daemon, 2 active sessions, 14-day history) Pro — €10/mo Max — €20/mo (personal automations and inbound webhooks) Team — €20/seat/mo (2-10 seats, sharedview source ↗

What is happening to jobs? Separating AI hype from realityDevin and Cline were the original true "agents" IIRC. Aider was the original terminal "agent" but it was't a true agent, it was sort of a hybrid agentic chat, since it had limited recursion ability (3 turns by default) and you had to configure it carefully to make it consistently take multiple turns in a row. If that were true, then Kilo Code, Claude Code, Cline, Pi, and Command Code would not be occupying 5 of the top 10 apps using OpenRouter. People have purchased 20 trillion tokens this month already for coding on OpenRouter alone at full-price market rates. Would you commission a study about whether cars are really a faster form of locomotion before deciding to purchase one? There is empirical data right in front of your face. You're just choosing to exclude it because of where you already stand. That's exactly what Feynman was warning about.view source ↗
