We keep trying to force massive language models into roles that just need fast, deterministic JSON endpoints. A non-autoregressive routing model for typed decisions makes way more sense than burning tokens on things that should just be function calls. #AI #Jev https://t.co/nx4cmwVHwX We keep trying to force massive language models into roles that just need fast, deterministic JSON endpoints. I run this exact split in production on my own agent. On every message, Jev picks which notes and skills get loaded before Claude sees anything. Each note is described by the words that should pull it in, not by its title. And Jev sees the previous exchange, so a follow-up like "go test it" still lands on the right file. https://t.co/o2a1K5pAoQview source ↗

Ollaya – Ollama for open-source, Jev-style decision modelsIsn't the point of Jev that it generalises better? It's a fast classifier you can use out-the-box, ~1.5bn tokens is about $40 (I've been hammering it) It just works ... a whole bunch of low-level/low-importance workflow stuff that was getting farmed out to small/fast LLM models now has a competitive alternative ... and… Isn't the point of Jev that it generalises better? Honestly I feel bad for like putting FamilyWeb (my webcomic) on hiatus after just starting it but in hindsight I AM SO GLAD I DID. If I had kept going at that time the story and characters would have been so ass. Putting it on hiatus is genuinely the best thing I’ve ever done for the comic. One of the bits of interview advice I got when I was in the academic job market was “dinners are important. but know that you can either fuck up a dinner or have it be uneventful”. I thought it funny and deranged, but with 15 tears of hindsight I recognize the bait in a few concrete instances now One of the bits of interview advice I got when I was in the academic job market was “dinners are important. but know that you can either fuck up a dinner or have it be uneventful”. Anon really went in my inbox after I said I started using it/its and drew some nsfw of one of my ocs to say smth along the line of "Just say being trans is a fetish for you smh🙄" It's so twitter, I wish I had saved a screenshot of it bc it was so funny in hindsight fr 😭 Anon really went in my inbox after I said I started using it/its and drew some nsfw of one of my ocs to say smth along the line of "Just say being trans is a fetish for you smh🙄" It's so twitter, I wish I had saved a screenshot of it bc it was so funny in hindsight fr 😭view source ↗

They traded an injured prospect for an All Star, Gold Glove, Silver Slugger winning shortstop. Yeah, in hindsight it didn't work out, but at the time literally nobody thought it was a bad deal. Dutch governments builds alternative for Microsoft based on NixOSThis, too, gives me vibes of cryptobros! Proponent: EmergingTech is gonna be amazing, it'll at revolutionize everything! Bystander: Alright. But I'll hold off until I see actual evidence of that happening. Truly revolutionizing tech usually shows clear signs of being revolutionary, and doesn't need evangelists. But I'll hold off until I see actual evidence of that happening. Truly revolutionizing tech usually shows clear signs of being revolutionary, and doesn't need evangelists. Proponent: You're gonna be left behind! Act now, or forever miss out! Here's analogies with things we know in hindsight were revolutionary. Bystander: Those analogies are bad for these specific reasons. Proponent: You will be proven wrong! It's so dumb. At least you AI proponents don't post pictures of yourself with glowing laser eyes when you evangelize, so I guess that's an improvement over the cryptobros. PS: I emphasize that I'm not claiming that the technology won't have huge effects on society. If that's your take on what I write, you have to read again.view source ↗

this'd give time for: - labs to improve security and policies - figuring out how to not mess up RLVR so much that you get the HF incident ("misalignment") - optimizing the smaller model ranges. anything from qwen 3.8 27b to jev count as examples. - threat of power capture of trump admin to pass this'd give time for: - labs to improve security and policies - figuring out how to not mess up RLVR so much that you get the HF incident ("misalignment") - optimizing the smaller model ranges. anything from qwen 3.8 27b to jev count as examples. - threat of power capture of trump admin to passview source ↗

Ollaya – Ollama for open-source, Jev-style decision models<<<"i was curious to see if i could train a competitive Jev-like model completely autonomously with a swarm of agents using our internal system." Bro is writing off the H200 lol On a sidenote I really can't stand the term "swarm" and definately plays into AI doomerism. <<<"i was curious to see if i could train a competitive Jev-like model completely autonomously with a swarm of agents using our internal system." ...Can someone please tell me why Xseed gets a pass for things people criticized Working Designs for in the 90's? Don't get me wrong, the Xseed script is still great, but the more I think about it in hindsight the more I think they might have been a little TOO loose at times... ...Can someone please tell me why Xseed gets a pass for things people criticized Working Designs for in the 90's? like, you could slap jev into the loop to just be _alerting_ but not blocking regarding this sort of behavior and get quicker human-in-the-loop interventions than what they are exhibiting. alignment is one thing, but this is just lack of caring. like, you could slap jev into the loop to just be _alerting_ but not blocking regarding this sort of behavior and get quicker human-in-the-loop interventions than what they are exhibiting. alignment is one thing, but this is just lack of caring.view source ↗
