I've tried lots of harnesses / IDE's - Best I've found is VSCodium.+ Cline + Openrouter, using discounted models (GLM 5.3 Flash is 50% off atm for example) I used Cursor for the last year - it's been decent. But I'm unhappy with the direction their going (it's largely just Grok Code at this stage...) Nobody advertises token limits - so it's pretty hard to compare, if you've used multiple tools in the last couple of months - what's your experience been? Will I be able to beat my Openrouter setup on cost per token via a useful model by subscribing to one of these? In my opinion - Grok 4.6 seems comperable with GLM 5.3 Flash. Deepseek 4.1 is my daily driver. I use Sol or Fable for hard problems - but it's expensive man... Please share your opinions.view source ↗

Y Hacker News 2mo neutral devin / analWhat is happening to jobs? Separating AI hype from realityDevin and Cline were the original true "agents" IIRC. Aider was the original terminal "agent" but it was't a true agent, it was sort of a hybrid agentic chat, since it had limited recursion ability (3 turns by default) and you had to configure it carefully to make it consistently take multiple turns in a row. If that were true, then Kilo Code, Claude Code, Cline, Pi, and Command Code would not be occupying 5 of the top 10 apps using OpenRouter. People have purchased 20 trillion tokens this month already for coding on OpenRouter alone at full-price market rates. Would you commission a study about whether cars are really a faster form of locomotion before deciding to purchase one? There is empirical data right in front of your face. You're just choosing to exclude it because of where you already stand. That's exactly what Feynman was warning about.view source ↗

If you're looking to not have to deal with Chinese providers, AtlasCode ($20/mo), OpenCode Go ($10/mo), and Cline Pass ($10/mo) provide 2x to 6x usage for some of the popular open weights (depending on the model). Personally, I subscribe to Z.ai ($17/mo), and pay API rates for MiMo v2.5 , Hy3 , Qwen 3.7 Plus , & DeepSeek v4 to the original providers (Xiaomi, Tencent, Alibaba, & DeepSeek).view source ↗
